The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the entire amount of seized Russian holdings to support Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel Moscow to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be implemented in tight collaboration with the US.

UK restrictions have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government initiated its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, funds sent to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been taken from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were united in their goal to drive progress toward utilizing the complete amount of the frozen Moscow's national assets to end the war.

He stated that further measures over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This statement follows EU representatives convened in the Danish capital previously to debate employing immobilized Russia's holdings for a 140-billion-euro loan to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump encouraged G7 allies to take or employ seized Russia's assets, based on reports.

The value of seized Russian assets in the EU is calculated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow launched widespread missile and drone strikes throughout the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in electricity outages in many areas of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.

While praising the UK's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the program, as well as enforce additional sanctions on the Russian Federation.
